Oaths of Loyalty in the Marketplace

Few government officials expect their pension funds to ever give them such a thrill. But after six months of extended service, Li Rongrong, SASAC (State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission) director, retired with his mark made. His farewell remarks of "a loyalist" still garners praise. Recently, when I happened to read about the Donglin Movement during the Ming Dynasty, which led to the fall of the kingdom in Fan Shuzhi's "History of the Late Ming Dynasty," I can not help but think of the "loyalist" with quite a lot of emotion.
