(Beijing) -- Fu Chengyu, the former head of China National Offshore Oil Corp. will take the helm at China Petrochemical Corp. as its chairman and communist party secretary, a person close to the matter told Caixin on April 8.

The appointment was announced in a China Petrochemical meeting in the morning, along with the promotion of Wang Tianpu, president of the listed-subsidiary Sinopec Group (SSE:600028) (HKEX:0386), as general manager of the group, said the source.
