Tencent Takes Stake in Filmmaker

(Beijing) -- Leading internet firm Tencent Holdings Ltd. (HKEX: 0700) invested 445 million yuan for a 4.6 percent stake in Huayi Brothers Media Corp. (SZSE: 300027), the only listed filmmaker in China.

Through its subsidiary, Tencent bought 27.8 million Huayi Brothers shares at 16 yuan each on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange on May 6, Huayi Brothers said in an exchange filing on May 9.
