Telecom Giants Huawei, ZTE Trade Telepunches

Everyone knew they were rivals, but few expected China's first- and second-largest telecom equipment makers to sue each other for alleged patent law violations in several countries.

No. 1 Huawei Technologies Co. filed court papers April 28 in Germany, France and Hungary against No. 2 ZTE Corp., claiming patent infringements tied to data cards and a kind of fourth-generation mobile Internet technology called Long Term Evolution (LTE).
