China Blocks Two High-Speed Rail Projects

(Beijing) – China's environmental authorities have ordered the halting of two high-speed rail projects over violations of environmental regulations during the construction process.

Six days ago, the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) of China notified the construction company of the high-speed line between Tianjin and Qinhuangdao in Hebei Province according to an official notice posted on its website May 18.
