Unilever Raises Prices, Despite Gov't Fines

(Beijing) -- Unilever has raised the prices of some of its personal care products in China, in the face of a 2-million-yuan fine imposed by Chinese authorities earlier this month for talks of a price hike with the media.

Many retailers in the Southern Chinese city of Guangzhou received price hike notices from Unilever on May 24, with one local supermarket raising Unilever's Lux- and Hazeline-branded products by 10 percent, Guangzhou Daily reported on May 25.
