Chinese Luxury Travelers Spent 90% More in 2010
(Beijing) – High-end travelers from China spent a staggering 91 percent more in 2010, according to the Chinese Luxury Traveler White Paper released June 14 by the Hurun Report, which also publishes an annual China Rich List.
Chinese shoppers for the first time ranked No. 1 in total spending on duty-free goods, accounting for 17 percent of all tax-free purchases worldwide, with Russia close behind at 16 percent, according to recent statistics from Global Blue, a market research firm.
