Crash Stirs Concern on Rail Reform


The deadly train crash on July 23 has raised a frightening new awareness into the risks of rapid infrastructure development, and, the financial viability of the railways system.

Some analysts say that the accident, along with other recent malfunctions in high-speed rail, can push forward a new round of reforms within the Ministry of Railways.

The July 23 accident, which killed 39 and injured around 200 according to official data, is still under investigation. But public discontent over the handling of the crash has grown.
