Huawei Hires Former U.K. Gov't CIO
(Beijing) -- Huawei Technologies Co., China's largest telecom equipment manufacturer, appointed former UK government chief information officer John Suffolk as its first global cyber security officer, in an apparent move to assuage international security concerns over the privately-owned Chinese company.
Suffolk will join Huawei in October and report directly to Ren Zhengfei, the founder and CEO of the Shenzhen-based company, according to a company statement on August 1.
