Caixin Survey: China's Wage Inflation

China's manufacturing sector has seen growing labor costs driven by a higher demand and rising salaries, according to a survey conducted by Caixin with several economists at the People's Bank of China including Zhang Xuchun, Xu Zhong and Shen Minggao on. Covering 588 manufacturing companies in five provinces including Jiangsu, Guangdong, Hubei, Jilin and Sichuan, the survey delved into the post-financial crisis phenomenon of strong wage growth throughout China. The results of the survey found that central and western regions of China experienced particularly rapid growth, due to higher living standards.
