China Minsheng Bank H1 Local Gov't Loans Hit 172 Bln

(Beijing) – China Minsheng Bank had 172.1 billion yuan in local government financing loans for the first half of 2011, according to the bank's mid-year report released August 23.

At the start of the second quarter, banking regulators revised commercial banking loan categories, and projects related to highway and railway construction were reclassified as local government platform loans.
