Guangzhou to Expand Community Service Corps

(Guangzhou)—On International Volunteer Day, Guangzhou's municipal government announced plans to encourage 20 percent of its population to become members of the city's volunteer corps in the next three to five years.

According to the announcement, the number of registered volunteers will reach 2 million, with each providing no less than 60 hours of service.
