Forbidden City Seeks Closure on Theft

Months after the Forbidden City was embroiled in scandal over 10 million yuan in stolen art pieces, the site is slowly restoring its public image through new leadership and progress in the courts.

On February 17, Beijing's No.2 Intermediate People's Court kicked off the trial of a man named Dan Baikui, who prosecutors say broke into the Forbidden City last May and made off with nine precious items.
