MIIT: Electronics, Software Business Up 20% in 2011

(Beijing) – Despite a slowdown in the global economy, assembly lines in Chinese electronics factories only saw frenetic growth last year.

According to a recent report by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the electronics manufacturing and software business booked a total of 9.3 trillion yuan in 2011 revenue, up 20 percent from a year earlier. MIIT said the figure was boosted by strong demand in the computers, mobile phones and electronic components-making sectors.
