Rediscovering the Party's Legitimate Resolve

At a gathering to mark the anniversary of the Communist Party of China in July, President Hu Jintao delivered a speech that invoked the party's historic resolution of 1981.

This document  -- A Resolution on Certain Questions in the History of Our Party Since the Founding of the People's Republic of China -- affirmed the CPC's many achievements over the years, even through the Cultural Revolution Period (1966-'76), such as construction of the Yangtze River Bridge at Nanjing and successful hydrogen bomb tests.
