On Anemic Political Reforms

Speaking at his final National People's Congress press conference, Premier Wen Jiabao stated, "I'll strive to my last breath to push forward with reform and opening-up policies."

Along with gaping divides in income, diminishing political credibility and rampant corruption in China, Wen said, "I believe in order to resolve these problems, China should not only conduct economic reforms, but also political reforms, in particular, the reform of the Party and the state leadership system."
