NDRC Sets Price for Electricity from Burned Garbage
![]() |
(Beijing) – China's top economic planner set the price power plants can charge for electricity generated from burning household garbage at 0.65 yuan per kilowatt hour.
The National Development and Reform Commission's benchmark price went into effect on April 1. Before then, the price for garbage-produced electricity had varied from region to region, in some areas reaching as high as 0.75 yuan per kilowatt hour. Setting a fixed price now standardizes it across the industry.
