Guo Daohui is not afraid to speak the truth.
Known as one of the three forefathers of modern Chinese law, the 84-year-old has been a key player in developing the field of legal studies in China from the outset.
Born in Hunan Province, Guo taught philosophy at Tsinghua University in the 50s. He became the deputy director of the research center for the Legislative Affairs Work Committee of the National People's Congress in 1979. Among his other public roles, he was the chief editor of China Legal Science Magazine, and member of the advisory committee to the Supreme People's Procuratorate.
