a

(Beijing) – A grisly accident in Shenzhen has prompted experts to raise questions over safety standards for electric cars.

Early on May 26, the driver of a sports car hit an electric BYD e6 taxi while traveling at 180 kilometers per hour.

The Southern Metropolis News reported that the taxi burst into flames and its driver and two passengers died. The sports car also hit another taxi, which was not an electric car, but no one in either vehicle was badly hurt.
