Funding for Controversial Nuclear Plant Resumes

(Beijing) – One of China's pioneering inland nuclear power projects has received another capital injection after the government put nuclear development on hold due to last year's disaster in Japan.

CPI Jiangxi Nuclear Power Co. Ltd. would receive another 400 million yuan from its parent companies, an announcement on June 5 said.

The firm was established in October 2009 to develop the Pengze nuclear plant, which is named for a county in Jiangxi Province across the Yangtze River from Anhui Province's Wangjiang County.
