Yili Recalls Mercury-Tainted Baby Formula

(Beijing) – The top product quality watchdog says excessive levels of mercury were found in baby formula made by Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group Co. Ltd., one of China's largest dairy producers.

The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said on June 14 that it had inspected all milk powder producers nationwide because excessive mercury was found in one of Yili's products. The other products had no problems, the watchdog said.
