Growth for SMEs in Western Regions Falters, Report Says

(Beijing) – The growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in western China slowed in the second half of 2011, a report released on June 18 says.

The growth index report for SMEs around the country, which was produced by Bank of Communications and Fudan University in Shanghai, shows that SMEs in western areas grew slower in the second half of 2011 than in the first half. SMEs in southern, eastern and central regions grew faster in the second half.
