China Airborne

a The last three decades in China have seen the successful cultivation and development of countless new domestic industries, far beyond the expectations of many observers both in and out of the country. In his latest book, The Atlantic's James Fallows examines one of the fastest growing of these new Chinese industries: aerospace. In so doing, he is able to extrapolate interesting observations about the current state of economic development and commerce throughout China. Fallows is perhaps uniquely suited to write a book like this, given his experience working as a journalist in China for the better part of the last decade, and also his experience flying Chinese, American and European-made aircraft as an instrument-rated pilot.
