From Dragon To Phoenix

Jinzhou is not a city I'd love to see twice. No sooner than traveling just a few blocks downtown, I decided to leave. In front of me was a group of vacant high-rises tarted up with quasi-mansard roofs. Atop three of them stood characters saying Man-Ha-Dun, for Manhattan in mandarin. I was walking down a street in which the pavement broken here and there, revealing patches of dirt underneath, as if the place was very recently bombed. The passersby, with worried expressions like war-refugees, helped finish a Guernica-esque scene.
