(Beijing) – A change in Australia's government will not damage bilateral relations, said Ross Garnaut, ambassador to China from 1985 to 1988 and current chair of Australian National University's China economy program.

His comments come as Australia's current ruling Labor party finds itself languishing in the polls, suggesting a possible shift to a liberal-led coalition in elections next year.
