(Beijing)— The majority of businesses in a city of roughly 8 million people have pulled down their shutters in anticipation of stringent city ordinance enforcement for the hosting of the 2013 National Games.
Small business owners in Shenyang, Liaoning Province say stores have been closed for as long as 10 days to avoid heavy penalties in the citywide sweep led by the local public security bureau. Authorities posted a local media report to city's microblog account on August 7 which stated the government has not started an intensive inspection campaign.
