How a Series of Glitches Has Slowed Gome

(Beijing) – The first half of 2012 did not run smoothly for Gome Electrical Appliances Holding Ltd., and there are signs more glitches could arise for one of China's largest retailers of electrical appliances.

Hong Kong-listed Gome told investors on July 24 that it expected to have a net loss in the first half due to a drop in sales revenue and losses in e-commerce. The loss would be Gome's first in the past eight years.
