Once Again in the Spotlight

(Beijing) – Qiu Xiaohua, the former director of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), is back in the spotlight again with the news that he became chief economist of Minsheng Securities in late August.

It has been nearly six years since Qiu was removed as NBS director. He was expelled from the Communist Party and public posts over alleged involvement in the Shanghai social security scandal and bigamy charges. He was convicted of bigamy and spent a year in jail.
