Nova Heart

Co-founder of the Beijing rock band Pet Conspiracy, Helen Feng's Nova Heart project combines sure-footed disco pop with heavy avant-rock vibes. Dark and danceable with spiraling Giorgio Moroder-like rhythms, the band's first EP "Beautiful Boys" offers a sturdy counterpoint to the rock music scene in Beijing. But the band's greatest strength may be Feng's volcanic levels of showmanship in live performances, full of startling intensity. Just ahead of an eight-country European tour, Nova Heart will take the stage at legendary venue Yugongyishan as parof events for the 2012 Beijing Design Week in early October.
