Li Keqiang

Li Keqiang, currently the first vice premier, was born in July 1955 in Dingyuan County, Anhui Province.

An "educated youth", Li joined the party in 1976 while working at a commune in Anhui's Fengyang County, and served as party secretary for the county's production brigade. While a student at the law school at Peking University between 1978 and 1983, Li was secretary of the university's branch of the Communist Youth League.
