Big Four Banks' January Loans Total 380 Bln Yuan

(Beijing) -- The country's Big Four state-owned banks issued a combined 380 billion yuan in January, up from 163 billion yuan in December, industry sources say.

Bank sources say the central bank has not set a clear credit target for this year, but many industry insiders expect total loan issuance for the year to reach 9 trillion yuan.

Lending from Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, Bank of China and China Construction Bank usually accounts for 30 percent to 40 percent of the country's total loan issuance.
