China Names Envoy to Focus on Relations with Myanmar

(Beijing) – The government has recently appointed an envoy seasoned in handling frictions with neighboring countries to focus on ties with Myanmar, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
Wang Yingfan, a 71-year-old former vice foreign minister, was named China's first-ever envoy on Asian affairs, the ministry said on March 11. He will focus on the Southeast Asian country, which is undergoing rapid political, social and economic changes.
