Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons

This fantasy epic offered by Hong Kong superstar Stephen Chow starring Shu Qi retells the classic story of the monkey king, Sun Wukong through the mountains of China with his two faithful friends, a talking pig and a Buddhist monk. Like many of Chow's comedies, the film is filled with slapstick gags and high-paced kungfu action – with a light sprinkling of romance. Journey to the West is served up as a prequel to Chow's 1994 boxoffice hit, "A Chinese Odyssey," directed by Jeffrey Lau.
