Former SERC Head Takes Reins at New NEA

(Beijing) – A major part of the massive government reform plan coming on the heels of the National People's Congress is the formation of a new energy regulator. This is being accomplished by merging the State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC) into the National Energy Administration.

The latest step in the major shakeup was completed on March 26, when Wu Xinxiong, chairman of SERC since 2011, was officially named head of the new NEA.
