Vale's Ship Enters Chinese Port, Unclear if Ban Was Lifted

(Beijing) -- Brazilian iron ore giant Vale had one of its ships dock in an eastern Chinese port, despite reports that the operation may have violated China's maritime regulations.

Vale's giant ore ships, which roughly measure the length of three soccer fields, were banned by Chinese authorities in January 2012 by the Ministry of Transport in a circular which prohibits certain large ships from entering Chinese ports.
