CPPCC Head Picked to Lead Xinjiang Policy Body

(Beijing) – Politburo Standing Committee member Yu Zhengsheng has become head of the Communist Party policy-coordinating body for the Xinjiang region, the official Xinjiang Daily reports.

Yu, the chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and now the head of the Xinjiang Coordination Group, visited the region between May 23 and 28, the newspaper reported on May 29. He was accompanied by Wang Wei, the deputy chairman of the CPPCC and chief of staff of the coordination group.
