Tragedy at a Factory in Dehui

The origin of a fire that killed over one hundred in workers China's northeast province of Jilin remains unknown. But on the morning of June 3, the prospects of escaping the deadly blaze at Baoyuanfeng factory were not helped by inadequate fire escapes, safety training and local firefighting resources.

Around 5:30 a.m. on June 3, 45-year-old Che Yunwu ate his breakfast and walked onto the factory floor of the Baoyuanfeng factory without knowing that he would be one of the few to leave alive that day.
