The institution of marriage has always developed within the context of a society's trends and tastes, but matrimonial choices among young women today appear to have taken a retrograde turn. A recent survey found that 70 percent of women aged 18 to 25 are seeking a marriage partner at least 10 years older. Reasons cited for preferring a "big uncle" include greater maturity, physical attraction and stronger economic potential than younger male counterparts. The survey also showed that only 17 percent of women who were with a "big uncle" reported being in love, and only 2.7 percent were married to a man 10 years or older.
