Former CCB, ICBC Employees Protest in Beijing Financial Street

(Beijing) – Crowds gathered in front of the Beijing headquarters of two large state-owned banks on July 29 to protest what they said was unfair treatment when they were laid off a decade ago.
The demonstrations were aimed at China Construction Bank (CCB) and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC).
About 700 people gathered in front of the bank buildings, which are near each other on Beijing Financial Street. Some of the people who protested from 9 a.m. until noon said they wanted their jobs back.
