Aung San Suu Kyi Calls Rule of Law Key to Future

Myanmar opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi has emphasized the importance of rule of law in building national unity and improving her nation's fledging economy.

Speaking at the Singapore Summit on September 21, Aung San Suu Kyi lauded the efforts of the international community in aiding Myanmar's economic development. She warned, however, that genuine change would have to come from inside the country, and that investor expectations of any rapid improvements would have to be tempered with cautious optimism.
