The Man with the Compound Eyes

AThe Man with the Compound Eyes is a difficult book to categorize -- tribal mythology, reflections on the environment and love stories are all interwoven into its beautiful narrative, none playing second fiddle to the others. But author Wu Ming-Yi himself wears multiple hats as an artist, environmental activist and a prolific author with twelve published titles spanning an impressive range of subjects. This is Wu's fourth work of fiction and the Chinese edition was first published in 2011 to surprisingly lukewarm reception in Taiwan.
