Ruins of Urbanization

The steady encroachment of urban development has altered and in some cases, destroyed, many of China's greatest cultural expressions as a civilization. Today the remaining imperial landscape gardens of Beijing stand as unique historical environments of public space which could see their fundamental elements as cultural heritage sites soon destroyed.
