Wumart's HK$ 2.89 Bln Deal for CP Lotus Store Falls Apart

(Hong Kong) – Chinese supermarket chain operator Wumart Stores Inc. has seen its HK$ 2.89 billion acquisition of 36 CP Lotus stores from Thailand's Charoen Pokphand Group fall through two months after the deal was announced.
CP Lotus Corp. said in a statement filed with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on December 16 that its agreement with Wumart on store sales and a share swap had been terminated.
