Italy's Encounters with Modern China

Italy's Encounters with Modern China is a collection of short essays dealing, true to its title, with various aspects of political, military and social interactions between Italy and China. The starting point is the founding of Italy in 1861; by the final chapters, the papers cover what is basically contemporary history.

A work like this is long overdue. Nothing of such depth has been published before and the high level of research put together by the 10 academics contributing to this project is remarkable.
