Closer Look: 'Lianghui' Meetings Set to Take Next Step in Reform Process
(Beijing) – All eyes are on the "lianghui" – the meetings of the National People's Congress and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference – which will review the direction of reform set last year and lay out this year's priorities.
How well the government can reinvent itself will be the basis upon which the foreign and domestic capital markets will decide whether China can restructure its economy.
The third full meeting of the Communist Party's 18th Central Committee held in November set reform aims in a wide variety of fields and invigorated market confidence. Those measures, should they be implemented, hold the promise of future development.
