Third Energy Official in Month Comes Under Investigation

(Beijing) – The country's energy industry continues to be hit by corruption inquiries as the third official in a month has come under scrutiny.
Wei Pengyuan, vice director of the National Energy Administration's coal department, has been arrested by anti-graft officials, several sources said.
More than 100 million yuan in cash was found at his home in Beijing, a source close to the situation said. Investigators needed 16 cash-counting machines to tally the money.
