China's Second Continent

The story of China in Africa has attracted considerable attention over the last few years, particularly around the time of the Beijing Olympics in 2008. Many will remember such august figures as Mia Farrow and Stephen Spielberg condemning China over its role in Sudan and the civil war there, claiming that it had supplied arms to the government to suppress opponents, with some even claiming its complicity in genocide.
