Net Companies Scoring with Huge Surge in Legal Soccer Betting

(Beijing) – Some 3.329 billion yuan worth of soccer lottery tickets were sold in the second week of this year's World Cup, which started on June 12 and ended on July 13, data from Caitong Consulting Inc., an online lottery consulting firm, shows.

Total sales for this year's event might reach 15 billion yuan, far more than the 2.3 billion yuan handled in 2010, and Internet companies would process 70 percent of the sales, said Li Jian, chief executive officer of Caitong.
