Xinjiang Gov't to Pay Villagers Who Helped Hunt Terrorists
(Beijing) – Authorities in the Xinjiang region plan to pay out 300 million yuan in cash to people who helped in an anti-terror operation that ended on August 1, state media reports.
A manhunt that spanned 28 villages in Moyu County, in the region's southern Hotan Prefecture, resulted in the death of nine people state media labeled terrorists and the capture of one more at an abandoned house.
