Red Cross under Fire Again, This Time over Warehouse Rentals

(Beijing) – The embattled Red Cross Society of China is again under scrutiny, this time over a report it has been leasing warehouses intended for storing disaster relief supplies, prompting an executive from the charity to say it would cease the practice this month.
The warehouses in the capital were built using 117 million yuan in government funds and opened in October 2010, the report by the Tencent finance website on August 18 said. The website cited a document it did not describe that was found during a four-month investigation.
